It won’t be a major surprise to people who have been following the ups and downs of this story, but on an earnings conference call this morning satellite radio provider Sirius/XM confirmed that it will provide streaming to iPhones and iPod touch devices.
CEO Mel Kamarzin said “by streaming its music, sports and talk channels to users of the iPhone and iPod Touch, Sirius can give its existing subscribers another way to access content and let new customers sign up without buying new radios”
The announcement today makes it clear what happened to the much awaited StarPlayr application that was about to be released and then was killed by the developers, likely on advice from Sirius/XM that the player would not be allowed.
Sirius now has 19 million subscribers, which is 10 percent higher than a year ago. Nevertheless, Sirius took a 4th quarter loss of $245.5 million dollars.
Sirius almost went bankrupt, until Liberty Media bailed them out last month with a $530 million investment.

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. (WUSA) – A Southern Maryland woman was seriously injured in a mishap involving a sex toy over the weekend. The case was first reported on TheBayNet.com, and Saint Mary’s county public safety sources confirmed the information to 9NEWS NOW.
The accident was reported to local fire and rescue personnel about 1:30 a.m. on March 7, from an address on Rogers Drive. The man who made the 911 call said he had placed a sex toy over a saber saw blade, and then used the power tool on his partner, but the blade cut through the plastic and injured the woman.
The victim, a 27-year-old woman, was reportedly injured and bleeding. She was later flown to Prince George’s hospital center by Maryland State Police helicopter.
On Wednesday, Saint Mary’s County Sheriffs released an update on their investigation. Detectives conducted an investigation which determined the injury was a result of a consensual act between two parties and no crime was committed.

When MySpace first came on the scene, it was all the rage. I reconnected with a lot of people, but the majority of my online friends, were all people I already hung out with on a regular basis. Not to mention, if I wanted to look for someone, it was hard to find “Joe Smith” when his MySpace name was “MOTORMAN4×4“. I deleted my account.
Enter Facebook. Register with your real name (even though a few people have somehow defeated the purpose of the site by registering with “aliases”. As of recent, the popularity has skyrocketed. Over the past month, I’ve reconnected with dozens of people I went to middle school and ELEMENTARY school with. Not only catching up with them, but also viewing pictures of myself and friends THAT I NEVER KNEW EXISTED. It makes the memories more of a reality, and not so much of a dream. I’ll stay a member, and keep on playing catch-up, as long as people “play” by the rules.
